We remind everyone that the Food Integrity Group (FIG) is run as a co-operative which basically means we all share in the running of the group and the jobs needing to be done. It is not a shop where one can call by every other week to collect some produce, but a community co-operative we all share in and where we can all benefit from the wonderful produce and community connection. Without volunteers, the co-op cannot operate and the higher membership fees help to offset discounts given to "reward" and encourage our volunteering members.
The 2011-2012 Subscription fees are as follows:
Annual subscription for those who can volunteer at least once a month in one FIG year (July to June) - $30.
Annual subscription for those who can volunteer at least once every two months in one FIG year - $50.
Annual subscription for those who cannot volunteer at all in one FIG year - $80.
Please pay the relevant subscription and joining fees (see below) at the desk, cash or
cheque.
Notes:
1. Concessions will still be available to pensioners, students and concession
card holders and the fees for these members will be approximately half the
above rates. Concession cards are to be shown upon joining.
2. There are some members who like to come weekly or fortnightly, or at least
very regularly, and so some of the higher fees will be used to offset some
further discounts to the “very regulars”.
3. Volunteer records are kept and it will be up to each member to ensure they
sign the attendance sheet in the red roster folder at the end of their FIG
shift so it is counted towards your total. If you have volunteered more than
you originally planned to, your membership fee will be adjusted. Likewise for
the opposite direction.
4. Volunteering at the co-op means helping on Monday and/or
Tuesday in the setting up of the tables,
produce & equipment, weighing and bagging produce, cashier
duties,
packing the bulk fruit orders, packing away and vacuuming the floor at the end
of the day, but also includes many other duties such as folding leaflets,
supplying recipes, answering email enquiries, writing up articles and newsletter updates,
helping to make signs, speaking at local community groups or running a
workshop, and many other little jobs throughout the year. Therefore those of
you unable to assist of a Monday due to work commitments or having young
children, etc, may be able to help out with other jobs at a time more
convenient. For those of you only able to collect your food box late in the
day, you may like to form part of the pack up team on a rotating basis.
5. FIG members are entitled to offer their organic or chemical free garden
surplus for the extras table or set up a direct sale table if they wish.
6. Existing members may pay their new renewal fees from June each year for the
new period beginning 1st July, and new members joining throughout the year
should note there is a new set of pro rata fees for each month which can be
viewed at the co-op or by scrolling down this page.
7. Subscription and joining fees may be paid by cash or cheque and if you are renewing
your membership, you may enclose payment in an envelope with a note with name
and details, to drop off at the desk. This helps to relieve congestion at the
desk and is much appreciated. If you have recently moved or changed any
contact details, please include these with your payment, otherwise existing
members do not have to complete another application form.
Please email if you have any further questions, or see any of the management
folk, at the co-op on Monday or Tuesday.
Thank you.
